On one level this thing I’m writing is kind of silly, because I’m presenting an uncertainty between two possibilities and it’s really not uncertain. The answer is both. One “option” is very obviously true, and the other is probably true too.
But my thoughts are very circly about this thing, and it feels like
Okay, it feels like the part of Reduced Shakespeare where they’re doing Hamlet, and they have the audience play the part of Ophelia’s internal dialogue. “Maybe, maybe not! Maybe, maybe not!” in the most obnoxious voice you can do, over a background of people chanting other obnoxious singsong phrases.
So hopefully there’s some value in portraying it the way it feels.
